About JoAnn

JoAnn Foxx is a 21^st century renaissance woman with an insatiable curiosity about life and a commitment to passing on her personal passion for inner and outer health and beauty to as many people as possible. Born in Oregon, the daughter of a career Navy officer, she was raised in Hawaii, California, and ultimately Massachusetts and proudly describes herself as a “Navy brat.” She credits her fiercely independent streak to her Mom and her Grandma Anna, quintessential pioneer women. JoAnn attended UMass in Amherst and ran her own sports marketing company in the mid-80’s. Her flair for unique style and a lifelong interest in fashion led her to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles; she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1989. Hired by Giorgio Beverly Hills, she soon became their buyer. JoAnn is a true Taurus, and her love of horses, animals, and nature connected her with the Doc in 1986. Soon after they bought an old horse ranch outside of Palm Springs she discovered that mucking stalls, rescuing abused horses, and repairing PVC pipe was as much her style as the high-fashion world of New York, Paris, Milan, and London. In the funky consignment stores of Palm Springs, she found an endless supply of furnishings for the ranch house that suited her quirky eye and eclectic personality.   JoAnn moved on from Giorgio in 2000 with her full-tilt-boogie attitude intact and co-founded the award-winning Medical and Skin Spa with the Doc soon after. It was there that she became an expert on what it took to keep skin radiant and youthful. FoxxMD was created by her as an alternative to the many chemicals then found in products. When she isn’t thinking up new products, JoAnn can usually be found with her Lab, Sammy, or with the horses, in rolled-up jeans, wearing her trademark Vaquero hat and her ever-present turquoise earrings. Her favorite activities are long quiet rides with the Doc and as many fireplace nights as they can possibly fit in. FoxxMD is truly the manifestation of JoAnn’s vision for health and beauty, inside and out.
